Our Process

Our process begins with an initial consult where we get to know each other. During this meeting, we will discuss your goals, what you are envisioning for your new custom home, layout ideas, etc. In addition, we will share details about us, our process, and answer any questions you may have.
One of the earliest steps in the building process is selecting the building location for your new home. Whether you already have a lot, are interested in building on one of ours, or are still looking for the right fit - we are here to help and can assist you in finding the perfect location for your new home.
We start by finding out what is important to you. Do you want a large backyard? A walkout basement? Lots of trees? Room for an outbuilding?
We will walk lots with you, suggest placement locations for your home, and help design a plan that works perfectly for you and your chosen building site.
Choosing the design of your new home begins with the personal wants, needs, and desires of you and your family. This step is where the vision for your new home starts to take shape. With Ziegler Custom Homes, you can expect homes that are as stunning as they are functional, incorporating your personal style with a thoughtful design.
Being a custom home builder, we can create a one-of-a-kind, truly custom home that includes any design element or feature you desire. We also offer a wide variety of floor plans from which you may choose to help you get started. Any of our popular plans can be customized just for you.
Selecting the products and materials that will make up your new home is probably the most enjoyable step in building your home.
You will begin by meeting with our trade partners to discuss the components and features you want in your home. While visiting their showrooms, sharing inspirational photos, and working closely with our trusted trade partners, you will choose everything from flooring, paint colors, and appliances to custom cabinetry. Your new home starts to take on your personality and personal design style.
With plans completed and permits in hand, actual construction is ready to begin. Ziegler Custom Homes works alongside our trusted subcontractors to build your home. The process starts with excavation and establishing a solid foundation and progresses from there.
To follow the progress of your new home, we will provide you with a high-level timeline for your construction project. You will meet with our team on-site at specific milestones during construction to walk through the progress, answer any questions, and approve the placement of lighting and electrical components.
We will be here every step of the way to answer questions and ensure your new home is built exactly as you imagined it.
With the construction of your new home complete, we will schedule a final walk-through to introduce you to all the features in your new home and point out any on-going maintenance tips. We will use this time to answer any remaining questions and to ensure that everything meets your new home expectations.
